Evian, with its thermal past, has managed to preserve all the richness of its heritage. The Cachat Refreshment Pavilion, the Griffin of the Cachat Spring, the Villa Lumière, the funicular, the theater, and the Casino are exceptional cultural sites that testify to the life of the resort for more than a century. The Palais Lumière, a cultural and conference center, is the emblematic building of Evian. Located on the southern shore of the lake and nestled against the pre-Alps, Evian enjoys a dreamlike setting, conducive to rest and rejuvenation. Lake Geneva is the largest lake in Western Europe: 72 km long. The first ski resorts are 15 minutes away.
Evian, a garden city, on the southern shore of Lake Geneva. This exceptional location between lake and mountain makes it a city of international renown (business tourism, seaside resort, health tourism, sporting events). The hospitality infrastructure: 3 business centers, 50 meeting rooms, 800 rooms including 450 in 4* and 5*, tourist residences, prestigious venues for gala evenings (historic lounges, dinner cruises, castles…). Activities and leisure throughout the seasons: cultural visits, water sports, mountain hiking, skiing, rafting, golf.
The territory offers a unique opportunity to align with your company's CSR objectives :
- A preserved natural environment between lake and mountains, with sustainable agriculture for over 20 years
- Soft mobility thanks to the concept of the fifteen-minute city allowing easy and quick access on foot to goods and services
- A human-scale city with less than 10,000 inhabitants, ensuring a peaceful and secure living environment.
Evian-les-Bains has been fully committed to a sustainable policy in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) since 2018. From 2020 to 2026, the city has implemented 200 actions focused on the three fundamental pillars: environment, social, and economy.
Trust Our commitment is recognized at both national and international levels: National award for sustainable development policy: Marianne d'or.
Created in 2019, the Léman Water Cluster Evian is an associative and collegial organization based in Evian-les-Bains. It brings together companies, professionals, research and training organizations, and public institutions committed to working together to implement a common development strategy focused on the water sector of the Léman basin.
Evian natural mineral water derives its unique composition from a 15-year journey of slow filtration through the glacial rocks of the French Alps. Part of the rain or snow, it is naturally enriched with minerals - it is therefore nature that gives evian its fresh taste. Inaugurated in 1965, the Evian bottling plant underwent a complete transformation between 2011 and 2019, among other things, to better accommodate the approximately 14,000 annual visitors. 1,200 employees work for the Evian brand in Chablais. They are responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the 13 fully automated production lines in the plant. The bottling plant covers an area of 130,000 m2.
Hydrotherapy has shaped the history and architecture of the resort. Evian’s thermal baths offer a fitness and well-being area open to all: mother baby stays, relaxation and slimming all benefit from the virtues of mineral water.
The first thermal baths opened in 1902, when this imposing building was considered a model of its kind. It could administer up to 1200 treatments a day. Entirely renovated, it reopened in 2006 under the name Palais Lumière after two years of work thanks to the City of Evian. Today, it’s a renowned cultural and conference centre. Several exhibitions are organised there each year in collaboration with major national museums.
Dominated to the south by the Chablais massif and close to the major resorts of the Portes du Soleil, Evian is a destination of choice for mountain lovers. The Pays de Gavot, a high plateau overlooking Evian about ten kilometres away, offers lots of routes between the Dranse Gorges, the peaks of the Mémises Mountain (1677 m) and the Dent d'Oche massif (2220 m). The two family ski resorts of Bernex and Thollon les Mémises located 12km away offer downhill and Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and more. A little further on, the Abondance Valley includes 3 ski resorts in an impressive setting. It’s also the place of origin of Abondance cheese,to be enjoyed warm in a “berthoud” or at the end of a meal.
In Evian, the year ends and begins with the Flottins. These imaginary little people set up their Fabulous Village between mid-December and early January in the heart of town. It’s a unique, magical atmosphere that takes over the lakeside town thanks to hundreds of driftwood sculptures, musicians and storytellers who set children dreaming and make their parents smile. Winter is also a time when the lake takes on different shades of bluish-grey and the Swiss shore often disappears behind the morning mists. The snow-covered mountains then offer a sublime spectacle when the low sun sets the landscape ablaze. This cosy, soothing atmosphere is ideal for treating yourself to a well-being stay in one of the many hotel spas.
At the origin, there is water. The water from the Cachat Spring, with its beneficial properties. In the heyday of Art Nouveau, the pleasures of dining and life developed thanks to this spring, leading to the rise of thermalism and the city’s economy. Thus, the worldwide notoriety of the city was born. Evian offers an exceptional setting and heritage in the heart of the Alps, between lake and mountain, sought after by its many visitors from around the world looking to recharge. But Evian is also the city of peace agreements, international meetings, a place that honors the role of women in the sports world. Your encounter with Evian is a rich relationship with prestigious cultural actors who have written a page of our history here. Evian is a place where caring gardeners have, for over a century, built a gentle and harmonious relationship with nature, creating a link between the largest lake in Europe and the Alps. Aware of its strengths, of their importance.
Aware of its assets, their importance, and our responsibility towards future generations, the city of Evian decided in 2018 to be among the first French cities to commit to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals defined by the UN. We thus commit to reinventing tourism that respects the balance between man and nature. This Kind Tourism, in which you participate by coming to Evian, offers each person moments in line with their aspirations and values. Evian is the ultimate destination to reconnect with nature, to take a break, to take time for oneself, with loved ones, and to fully live each moment.
